Welcome to the Ultimate Golden Retriever Site! A website for Golden Lovers by Golden Lovers.
If you’re looking for the latest and greatest information about Golden Retrievers you’ve come to the right place.
We are Golden owners and lovers sharing our best tips and experiences raising and training Golden Retrievers from puppies to adults to seniors citizens.
My name is Colby and I’ve been writing to our sister site, PuppyInTraining.com for over 13 years sharing my experiences raising service dog puppies.
While the main focus of PuppyInTraining.com was service dog puppies we found ourselves writing more and more about one of our favorite breeds: Golden Retrievers.
In December 2020 my wonderful sister-in-law, Rissa, and our good family friend, Jeff adopted puppies from our Trolls Litter.
Auntie Rissa and Uncle Jeff (as our kids call them) agreed to share their tips and experiences raising and training their Golden pups as regular contributors to GoldenRetrieverSite.com
I’ll be sharing my tips and experiences raising Golden Retriever litters as well as stories about our elder Golden Retriever, Raven as she enters her senior years.
To top it all off our resident Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Debbie will share her own experiences raising and training Golden Retriever and Golden Mix puppies over her 24 years as a professional dog trainer.
If you have a Golden you’ve come to the right place.

A few months after I was born my parents got a Golden Retriever puppy, Kiko. And so the Golden journey began…
Since then Golden Retrievers have been a part of my life for nearly 5 decades. After Kiko the next Golden to come into my life was a Golden mix named Daly that we had throughout our college years.
My roommate adopted Daly who’s original puppy name was Lady. Being the manly men we were we came up with the anagram Daly, named after a popular golfer at the time, John Daly.
After college I joined the work force and didn’t have the time for a dog. However, several years later I got the itch for a dog and ended up rescuing my first puppy as an responsible adult, Linus, a Labrador Retriever-Aussie mix (not a Golden).
Linus made me realize how much I missed the companionship of a dog and he has been directly responsible for shaping my life over the past 17 years.
Shortly after adopting Linus I got involved with fostering and volunteering with rescues.
I loved working with dogs and decided to make a long term commitment by raising a guide dog puppy.
Stetson, a Labrador Retriever was my first guide dog puppy, but a short time later I raised my first Golden Retriever puppy, Apache who went on to work as service dog.
I wanted to get more involved with service dogs which led me to working with the breeding manager from the guide dog school.
The breeding manager had a Golden Retriever she was planning on breeding, but she needed a caretaker to train, and raise the litters.
Raven was an English Cream Golden Retriever from Hungary. I accepted the position of breeder caretaker and in exchange I was allowed to keep half her litters.
I had no plans to sell any of her puppies, but instead raise them as service dogs or donate them to service dog schools.
Over the past six years I’ve raised 33 Golden Retriever puppies and placed several as working service dogs.
That brings us to today. We currently have two dogs at home. A 7 year old Golden Retriever, Raven and a 9 month old Labrador Retriever, Elsa.
I’m glad you’re here to join us on or journey. It will be Golden! 🙂
Hi! My name is Rissa and I just became the proud owner of a brand new golden retriever puppy named Charlie.
I’m mom to one human child and one canine child, whom I both love dearly. Lately, I’ve been learning to play pickleball and Charlie is happy to come along.
I also enjoy hiking, shopping, going to the beach and hanging out with friends and family.
I have had the pleasure owning and loving several dogs in my lifetime including a family dog, a Golden Retriever mix named Cleo.
I am excited to start blogging about my adventures as a dog mom.
Jeff is the proud new owner of an English Cream Golden Retriever puppy. He’s excited to share his journey raising and training his new bundle of energy.
